When getting around Thailand has a wide array of transport options, from motorcycle taxis to rail and everything in between. Do a little research before selecting your mode of transport on what is the quickest and most comfortable option,  you could be in for a long journey.

Coastal resorts and islands are packed with beach bungalows, ranging from ones made from woven reeds that don’t look as if they’d survive a stiff breeze, to more expensive options that actually have electricity.  There are loads of interesting home-stays available, from sleeping in a temple to bedding down in a rubber plantation. Just ask around when you arrive somewhere new.  You could go abit more upmarket with one of the many spa’s or more plush beachside resorts for some great prices.
